Ruth Patrick Science Education Center receives $10,000 for STEM education from Generac Foundation

The Ruth Patrick Science Education Center at the University of South Carolina Aiken received $10,000 from the Generac Foundation to support STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) education. The funds will support RPSEC’s SEED STEM Festival, Full STEAM Ahead—Exploration event, and Student Programs: Content Series.

“We are grateful to the Generac Foundation for their generous support, which will allow us to enhance STEM programming in our area,” said Dr. Gary Senn, director of RPSEC and Westinghouse Endowed Professor in Instructional Technology at USCA.

Alicia Padgett, a recruiter with Generac, hopes this donation will inspire young people to want to enter STEM-related fields in South Carolina.

The Generac Foundation is focused on making a meaningful impact that will power possibilities and strengthen communities where Generac employees live and work. The private foundation has a facility in Trenton, South Carolina.
