USCA eventing team to be recognized by the South Carolina General Assembly on Feb. 15

The University of South Carolina Aiken's eventing team will be recognized by the South Carolina General Assembly on Thursday, Feb. 15, for their historic win at the 2023 United States Eventing Association Intercollegiate Eventing Championship.

Members of the South Carolina House and Senate will recognize the team's win before going into their respective sessions. Last year the Pacers made history despite being the smallest team in the field with only five riders. The team outperformed Auburn University, University of Kentucky, and University of Georgia, to secure their first intercollegiate championship in North Carolina.

"I am super grateful that the South Carolina legislature is taking the time to recognize our team and our accomplishments," said Carson Langenberg, team president. "It is really awesome to see so many people coming out of the woodwork to show their support for us in these recent months."

Langenberg said she hopes that last year's win is going to inspire riders that are interested in joining the team. "It just goes to show that anyone has a chance at success, no matter how small they think they might be," she said.

This year the team will have a home-field advantage as the 2024 and 2025 USEA Intercollegiate Championship will be held in Aiken at Stable View. "Each and every one of us are looking forward to the event and we're hoping that we can continue to impress everyone that's been supporting us thus far," Langenberg said.

The team will be recognized at 10 a.m. Thursday morning on Feb. 15 to watch click the link here
