USC Aiken School of Business Pacer Center to host the 3rd Annual Women in Business Symposium

The University of South Carolina Aiken School of Business Pacer Center will host the 3rd Annual Women in Business Symposium (WIB). This inspiring event will occur on Friday, November 17th, at the University of South Carolina Aiken, Student Activities Center, Gym from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM.

"WIB was inspired by the remarkable journey of USC Aiken alumna Kimberly A. Kanagy. Kimberly's initial challenges in the world of business and finance prompted our reflection on the invaluable contributions women make to businesses and society," said Dr. Sanela PorĨa, Executive Director of the Pacer Center. This reflection gave birth to the WIB, an event that stands as a testament to the resilience and significance of women in the world around us.

Attendees can expect to hear from Ms. Julie Kunkle, Deputy Director of Small Business and Innovation from the South Carolina Department of Commerce, and Dr. Kasie Whitener, writer, researcher, and consultant from USC Darla Moore School of Business.

From kickstarting the first paid online advertising program at AOL to working in strategy, account service, and project management, Kunkle has worked with a mix of clients from Dell, Johnson & Johnson, Pepsi, Version, and Metallica.

Throughout her career, Whitener has taught management and entrepreneurship courses at multiple higher education institutions. Along with teaching and writing, Whitener manages her business consulting company, Clemson Road Creative. She also serves on the South Carolina Writers Association Board and hosts a weekly radio show.

Porca says she hopes attendees will leave the WIB symposium not just with knowledge about the small business in S.C. and Aiken, but with business insights that they can apply in their careers. The Women in Business Symposium is a testament to the university's commitment to empowering the next generation of women leaders," she said. "It is a celebration of the remarkable achievements and contributions of women in the business world. WIB provides a unique platform for networking, sharing experiences, and fostering collaborations among successful."

Anyone interested in attending is asked to RSVP no later than November 13. Click the link here to sign up now.
